Best time to activate the Pirate Shop token
Until we have at least 14 days of data we can't compare whole windows yet. In the meantime, the daily line above shows which days are unusually rich, and the homepage's when to activate section has the general advice.
The shop is curated by Epic and doesn't follow a fixed schedule, so past windows can't guarantee future ones. What the history does show is how much the shop swings from day to day, and whether big days cluster around updates. Use it alongside what you personally want: a 300,000 V-Bucks window full of items you don't care about is worth less to you than a quieter one with the collab you've been waiting for.
What makes the daily value go up and down
The free value of a day's shop is the sum of everything you could claim, so it moves whenever Epic adds, removes or reprices offers. Today it stands at 224,800 V-Bucks. The main drivers are:
- The number of offers. Large updates and themed events tend to add whole sections to the shop, and more offers means a higher total.
- The mix of item types. A day heavy on outfits is worth far more than one heavy on wraps and back blings, even with the same number of offers.
- Jam Tracks. The music section can hold a hundred or more tracks, which adds a large and fairly steady block of value. We store a cosmetics-only figure as well so that block doesn't hide what's happening to outfits and emotes.
- Bundles and discounts. Bundles only count when they contain something not sold separately, and discounted offers count at the discounted price, so a sale can lower the total even while it makes the shop better value for buyers.
How the 14-day window chart works
A Pirate Shop token window lasts 14 days, so the second chart adds up 14 consecutive days of shop value and plots the result against the first day. Each point answers: “if I had activated on this date, how busy would my window have been?”
A worked example: if every one of the next 14 days looked exactly like today, a window starting today would score 14 × 224,800 = 3,147,200 V-Bucks. In practice some days are richer and some quieter, and the chart shows which start dates caught the richest run. Because an item that stays in the shop for a week is counted on each of those days, the window figure is a measure of activity, not a count of unique items you could claim.
The chart can only plot windows that have already finished, so the most recent point is always 14 days behind today. It needs at least 15 days of data before it can draw a line.
Using the history to pick your activation date
- Look for a pattern, not a single spike. One huge day matters less than a run of strong days, because you get all 14.
- Compare today with the average. If today's value is well above the average line and the shop is full of things you want, activating now is reasonable.
- Watch for update days. If big days have lined up with updates so far, a window that covers the next update is a good bet.
- Mind the deadline. Whatever the chart says, the 2026 window must be activated by December 15, 2026 at 6 PM GMT-6. A perfect date after the deadline is worth nothing.
A busy shop isn't always worth more to you
The numbers here measure the whole shop. Your window is only as valuable as the items you actually want and don't already own. A day packed with Jam Tracks adds tens of thousands of V-Bucks to the total but means little if you never play Fortnite Festival. Owned items, the one-Sidekick limit and personal taste all cut the real value well below the headline. The best use of this page is to spot unusually strong or weak periods, then check the live shop and build a haul of what you'd really claim.
What we store for each day
Each daily snapshot is one row with:
- the shop date and the time we fetched it;
- the total free value, and the same value without Jam Tracks;
- the number of offers that counted towards the total;
- a breakdown of value and offer count by item type (outfits, emotes, pickaxes, Jam Tracks and so on);
- the ten most expensive single offers of the day;
- the full list of offers, so we can recalculate if our counting rules ever change.
The type breakdown is what will let us answer questions like “was that peak driven by outfits or by a big Jam Track drop?” once there's enough history to compare.
How we record the shop, and the limitations
A scheduled job runs a few minutes after the 00:00 UTC rotation. It downloads the shop from fortnite-api.com, applies the same de-duplication rules used across this site, and saves one row per day: total value, value without Jam Tracks, the number of countable offers, a breakdown by item type and the ten priciest offers. If the job fails one day, that day is missing from the chart rather than filled with a guess.
The data comes from a community API that mirrors Epic's catalog, which can lag the in-game shop by a few minutes after a rotation and occasionally miss an offer. Regional prices and account-specific offers aren't included. The numbers are a fan estimate for comparison, not an official figure from Epic Games.
Want the live version? The today's shop page lists every offer with leave timers and lets you build a haul. Holding a token already? The activation countdown converts the December 15 deadline to your time zone.
Shop history FAQ
What is the best time to activate the Pirate Shop token?
The 14 days whose shops are worth the most to you. Historically that's often around big updates and collab drops, but the shop can't be predicted precisely, so use the history as a guide and watch the daily value.
How is the daily value calculated?
The same way as on the homepage: every single offer at its current price, plus bundles only when they contain something not sold separately, with one Sidekick counted.
Why does the history start on November 4, 2026?
That's when we started saving a snapshot after every daily rotation. Earlier shops weren't recorded.
Is the 14-day total what I could actually claim?
No. It adds up each day's shop, so an item that stays for a week is counted seven times. It measures how busy a window was. What you can claim is every unique item that appears during your 14 days, which is lower.
Are Jam Tracks included in the history?
Yes, because they are sold for V-Bucks. We also store each day's value without Jam Tracks, so cosmetics-only trends can be shown separately.
Why can a day in the history differ from the live value on the homepage?
Both use the same counting rules, but the history saves the shop a few minutes after the 00:00 UTC rotation, while the homepage refreshes through the day. If Epic adds or removes offers later that day, the live figure moves and the saved one doesn't.
Can a past window tell me exactly when to activate?
No. Epic curates the shop and doesn't publish a schedule, so the history shows patterns, not promises. Combine it with what you want and with the December 15 deadline.
